A holiday is all about escaping the everyday and taking time out to unwind. What could be more relaxing than spending a day of your holiday in a luxurious spa, where everything is designed to make you feel calm and cared-for? There are lots of lovely day spas in Cornwall and we’ve selected a few of the best spas in Cornwall. You might also want to take a look at our St Ives holiday cottages, which include spa passes! Where will you unwind on your Cornish holiday?
The Best Spas to Visit in Cornwall.
Una Resort St Ives.
We’ll start with a spa that’s close to Cornish Escapes’ home in St Ives. This stylish spa offers a range of spa day options, including pampering and refreshing packages. A spa day includes the use of the fitness suite, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi; however, it’s the two swimming pools that attract many of Una’s guests. The indoor pool is a good size, and the recently opened lido is a must on a sunny day. When you’re planning your Una spa day, make sure you leave some time for the excellent restaurant.
Why not enjoy Una from a Cornish Escapes Holiday Cottage? 64 Una is a contemporary-style lodge with an eco-friendly design, set in the grounds of Una Resort. The light and airy house comes with family passes to the spa and leisure facilities – the perfect way to relax on your Cornish holiday.

C Bay Spa.
Staying in St Ives, well head down the hill to Carbis Bay beach and the elegant Victorian Carbis Bay Hotel. You’re welcomed to your spa day (or half day) with a glass of bubbles and this sets the tone for the relaxation and pampering ahead. Try the Beach Mermaid package, which includes lunch in the Orangery Restaurant. The highlight of a C Bay Spa day is lounging in the bubbles of the outdoor heated pool, gazing out across the sandy bay and azure Atlantic Ocean…

Scarlet.
Scarlet is a sanctuary from everyday life, in a beautiful cliff top setting above chic Mawgan Porth. The eco-friendly hotel is adults-only and spa days are limited to groups of three or fewer: Scarlet really is all about peace and tranquillity. At Scarlet, the spa experience immerses you in the beautiful Cornish setting. Enjoy the cliff top barrel sauna, followed by relaxing in the sea-view hot tub with a glass of prosecco. Their signature spa treatment involves soaking in a candlelit copper tub and guided mediation as well as a 90-minute body treatment.

Budock Vean.
The Budock Vean Hotel is set in 65 acres of lush countryside that leads down to the Helford River, a few miles out of Falmouth. Although the beautiful setting makes sure that Budock Vean Spa is a perfect spot all year round, we especially love it in the winter when the poolside log fire is lit and the trees rise up through the morning mist while you lounge in the outdoor hot tub. The pool itself is 15-metres long – larger than you’ll find in many hotel spas. Enjoy an Elemis treatment followed by lunch in the elegant hotel.

Mullion Cove Hotel & Spa.
Mullion Cove Hotel has a spectacular location, high on the Lizard cliffs above the small harbour. The spa uses local and organic products, with seaweed and sea salt giving a nod to the spa’s coastal setting. You can choose from a wide selection of spa days and sessions, including a choice of pre-and post-natal treatments. To make the most of the lovely hotel, we’d suggest booking into a Twilight Spa, which includes a glass of prosecco on arrival and a two-course meal in the Glenbervie Bistro.

Fistral Beach Hotel & Spa.
This Newquay spa is a beautiful contemporary space with clean and calm decor. It offers a great choice of spa days and half days, designed to relax and revive. The Vitality Suite has an 11 metre swimming pool, which we especially love when it’s lit for the evening Twilight & Dine sessions. A full-day treatment includes afternoon tea (with prosecco, naturally) and refreshments in the exclusive Relaxation Room. If you feel in need of a complete unwind, choose the two-hour Ocean Gaia Ritual (available on the Revitalise Spa Day package).

Headland Hotel Spa.
We have a second spa recommendation for Newquay, this time in the landmark Headland Hotel. The iconic Victorian seaside hotel has recently had a £10 million upgrade to its swimming pool offer and now boasts six pools in its adults-only AquaClub complex. The luxurious spa has a choice of pampering days and half days, which have a wonderful choice of relaxing treatments. If you’re tight for time, book the two-hour Tea & Swim package so you at least get to enjoy those glorious new pools…

Cornish Escapes Properties with Hot Tubs.
If you want spa facilities even closer to home, you can book a break in one of our hot tub properties. These luxurious holiday lets each have their own private hot tub – just what you need after a day on the beach or walking the South West Coast Path.
Take a look at Island Wastrel, a private retreat close to Porthgwidden Beach in St Ives. There is a comfy seating and dining area next to the hot tub, creating your own relaxing haven in the centre of the town. Just outside St Ives in Carbis Bay, Solstice is a modern holiday home with a large hot tub. The built-in tub has an awning for shade and is surrounded by elegant planting and comfortable seats.

Why not Relax in your Own Sauna?
A sauna is a wonderful way to unwind and de-stress, while relaxing your muscles and making your skin glow. If you prefer a sauna to a hot tub, take a look at Am Meer, a luxury holiday let in St Ives. Its beautifully appointed garden sauna seats two and afterwards, there’s an invigorating outdoor shower (this is also super-handy after a day on the beach). Trehayes Haven, also in St Ives, has a private sauna in the comfort of one of the bathrooms.
You will find saunas and steam rooms in most of the spa resorts we’ve mentioned above; however, our favourite remains the wood-fired sauna on Hayle Estuary, which is handily close to Gilbert’s Bar.

Holiday Cottages with Spa Passes.
Some of our holiday homes come with spa passes included. Number One Peninsula has a lovely St Ives location, close to the Harbour Hotel. Our guests receive a pass for two people to use the hotel pool, spa and gym during their stay.
Coastguard House, with glorious views across Porthminster Beach, also have passes for two for the Harbour Hotel facilities. Guests at all three properties will receive a 20% discount off spa treatments at the hotel as an extra-special holiday treat.
